Madonna Injured in Horse Accident

Madonna suffered an injury while horseback riding today in New York. She was briefly hospitalized and released but will need to undergo more tests in the future, according to her publicist.

While very few details about the accident were given, it seems Madonna fell from the horse after it was startled by paparazzi, the publicist said.

Twitter users expressed their concern for the pop icon:

  1. Tracy Faxon-Falgoust

Susan Boyle Captures Hearts

Susan Boyle, the 47-year-old Scottish contestant on Britain's Got Talent, has become an overnight superstar in America and abroad, reports CNN. Boyle first wowed audiences last week when she belted out "I Dreamed a Dream" during her audition.

The judges admitted they initially dismissed Boyle just based on her matronly appearance. Judge Piers Morgan has since apologized to her, saying that he "never heard a more surprising, extraordinary voice coming out of somebody so unexpected."

A YouTube clip of Boyle's audition already has more than 28 million views, making her a viral sensation.

Oprah Twitter Use Prompts User Backlash

After Oprah Winfrey dedicated a portion of her talk show Friday to the growing Twitter phenomenon, thousands of people promptly signed up for the micro-blogging service, according to TechCrunch.

The surge in new users elicited negative reaction from those already on Twitter:

  1. Alonis
Alonis There's a website to say that you were on Twitter before Oprah? Don't think I need to add my name. We all know that I was here before @Oprah
  2. Kelly Burkhardt
kaburkhardt Oprah had a show on twitter. Clearly this site jumped the shark
  3. Scott Carroll
ScottyKnoxville @saraumay I'm not the only one who feels that @oprah should stick to book clubs and closeted homo celebs (Tom Cruise). Leave Twitter alone.
  4. Tate Williams
mrchair Oprah can't make Twitter suck, the same way she can't make books suck. It would be nice to have an app that red flags users who follow her.
