"TwiCon" Something to Sink Your Teeth Into?

Members of Team Edward or Team Jacob (aka the "Twilight" obsessed) will soon have a chance to meet up with fellow fans.

Entertainment Weekly reports that readers of the Stephenie Meyers series can head to Dallas, Texas for TwiCon 2009. It's the first annual unofficial convention for "Twilight" lovers.

TwiCon will last from July 30 to August 2, 2009. The convention will feature live "Twilight" inspired band performances, a Volturi Masque Ball, panels and workshops, as well as a Vendor Hall for little vampire and werewolf souvenirs.

The Twitterverse is abuzz with excitement about the event.

According to the TwiCon Web site, the Sheraton Hotel in Dallas hosting the convention has already run out of double-bed rooms.

Leno hospitalized, 'Tonight Show' cancelled

Per KTLA, late night talk show host Jay Leno was hospitalized today and this evening's "Tonight Show" has been cancelled. There are few details on his condition right now, but he is said to be in good spirits.

"Beauty and The Beast" to be Remade

It's a tale as old as time and now it's getting a modern twist: the Academy Award-nominated Disney film, "Beauty and the Beast," will be remade with Vanessa Hudgens in one of the title roles, according to Variety.

The new film, simply called "Beastly," will focus "on an arrogant 17-year-old who’s hideously transformed in order to find true romance. "

But fans don't seem happy about the casting choice--or that this perennial favorite is being retooled at all.

Lindsay Lohan talks split on "Ellen"

Per the National Ledger, Lindsay Lohan appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show to discuss tabloids and her recent (and very public!) split with DJ Samantha Ronson. According to the National Ledger, the young starlet would not "reveal what sparked the high profile breakup, but stressed that neither she nor Ronson cheated."

Per E! Online News, LiLo acknowledges mistakes she may have made and is ready to focus on her career. "I feel like I want to get my career back in shape," she told Ellen.

But the TV appearance sparked more interest in her weight than her career:

Beyonce Recording is a Hoax

Earlier this week the Howard Stern Show played a recording, supposedly of Beyonce, singing horribly. The clip has since gone viral--though it's actually fake.

Beyonce spoke to MTV about the hoax, telling them, "It's perfect promotion, whoever came up with that idea."

Added her father-manager Matthew Knowles: "At 12 years into her career, the last thing someone should be questioning is her vocal ability."

Twitterers came to Beyonce's defense--but also continued to spread the clip around.
