He chose "You Are So Beautiful" as his second song, which the judges raved about. Kara told him, "Everything you didn't do [in your first song], you just did!" Kris Allen had a strong night on the show, first singing the Randy and Kara chosen "Apologize" and then putting his own spin on Kanye West's hit "Heartless". While Kara said he didn't "hit it out of the park," tweets from "Idol" fans were overwhelmingly positive:

Simon Cowell chose Adam Lambert's first song, "One" by U2. The judges all agreed it was another strong performance, and were equally enthusiastic about his rendition of Aerosmith's "Cryin." Simon encouraged everyone to vote for Lambert, and while some proclaimed their fandom over Twitter, others in the Twitterverse weren't thrilled with his songs:

Post-"Idol" tweets about Lambert weren't solely about his singing talent - Twitterers were also gossiping about recent reports that Adam could be the first gay "American Idol." Lambert appears alone on the May 15 cover of Entertainment Weekly with the headline "Most Exciting 'American Idol' Contestant In Years," but most Twitter users seem to think that Lambert's sexuality is no big deal and are expressing support for the rocker:
