Brooke Shields Outraged at Tabloid's Antics

Brook Shields will take "every lawful action against all who were involved" in checking her 75-year-old mother out of a New Jersey assisted living center last week. Per PEOPLE, Teri Shields was seen at a restaurant speaking with a freelance reporter, but the event wasn't authorized by the Shields family. Teri suffers from dementia and was residing in a senior living facility when two reporters checked her out, claiming they were friends of Teri's.

Shields was contacted by police, and claims the reporters were not friends of Teri's and were just looking for a story. The National Enquirer released this statement to PEOPLE: "A freelance reporter who has known Teri Shields for more than 10 years visited her Thursday at the assisted living facility where Brooke says she moved her. Teri asked the reporter to take her out to lunch and to run some errands. The freelance reporter then got permission from the facility to do so."

The police will continue to investigate but no charges have yet been filed.
