Oprah Twitter Use Prompts User Backlash

After Oprah Winfrey dedicated a portion of her talk show Friday to the growing Twitter phenomenon, thousands of people promptly signed up for the micro-blogging service, according to TechCrunch.

The surge in new users elicited negative reaction from those already on Twitter:

   Alonis There's a website to say that you were on Twitter before Oprah? Don't think I need to add my name. We all know that I was here before @Oprah

   ScottyKnoxville @saraumay I'm not the only one who feels that @oprah should stick to book clubs and closeted homo celebs (Tom Cruise). Leave Twitter alone.
