"Project Runway" moves to Lifetime

"Project Runway" was given the green light to make it work over on Lifetime. The popular show's sixth season was delayed for months after The Weinstein Co. opted to move the show from NBC's Bravo network to Lifetime. The Weinstein Co. agreed to "pay NBC Universal an undisclosed sum to move the series from NBC's Bravo to Lifetime," according to Reuters.

"Runway," hosted by Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn, finished season five in October of 2008. The show takes 16 fashion designers and puts them through a series of challenges to win the ultimate prize: money to launch their own clothing line. The new season will being airing on Aug. 20.

Although excited about the premiere of season six, others are not pleased about the move to Lifetime:

Lifetime will also have a "companion series, 'Models of the Runway,' which will give fans a behind-the-scenes look at 'Project Runway' from the models' viewpoint."
