According to the blogosphere, reaction to the potential series isn't good good. New York Magazine's review of last night's test episode listed plenty of reasons as to why the show will probably fail. Roger Catlin of The Hartford Currant also gave a negative review, while the LATimes.com highlighted both positives and negatives.
Gossip Girl fans on Twitter also gave mixed reviews.

That would have been way too cheesy. lalalexieD Ack, I hope The CW picks up the Gossip Girl spinoff, because I thoroughly enjoyed last night's episode. Hello, 80's fashion! egelyn Gossip Girl was good like always. I'm kind of glad that the 80's spinoff got cancelled because it was rather yawnworthy in this episode.
While Deadline Hollywood Daily reported last week that the show won't make it on to The CW's fall lineup, E!Online reported it still has a chance.
