"Grey's" Wedding Site Appears on Knot.com

The Meredith Grey and Derek Shepherd wedding already had buzz among "Grey's Anatomy" fans but "Grey's" creator Shonda Rhimes has added to the hype with a Knot.com Web site. The site includes the wedding date, information on the couple, a blog by character Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl) and even the ability to RSVP. According to the Associated Press, the site drew 1,400 replies within the first 24 hours of its launch.

The AP reports Rhimes "enlisted the TV show's staff and ABC's marketing department to make the most of the occasion." Rhimes came up with the idea while filming scenes where Grey (Ellen Pompeo) tries on wedding dresses. The site came together quickly and launched last Thursday.

A registry page also appears on the site and gives viewers the opportunity to donate funds to the American Academy of Neurology Foundation, American Skin Association and Alzheimer's Association. Michael Benson, executive vice president of marketing for ABC Entertainment, told the AP these charities were chosen because they are connected to key storylines.

Feelings about the site range from thinking it is a great addition to the show to arguing that it goes too far:

"Grey's" star expecting first child

The celebrity baby boom continues! Per People, Ellen Pompeo and her husband of one year, Chris Ivery, are expecting their first child. The pair met in 2003 and were married in 2007 by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Could this mean a McDreamy/Grey baby next season? Well, Pompeo is not the only Seattle Grace doctor preparing for an addition to her family. Chyler Leigh and her husband, Nathan West are expecting their third child in May. Leigh plays Pompeo's sister on "Grey's Anatomy."

Other celebrities expecting bundles of joy include Sarah Michelle Gellar, Heidi Klum, Nicole Richie and Idina Menzel.
