"Samantha Who?" and "Sarah Connor" Canceled

ABC's "Samantha Who?" and Fox's "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" will not be returning in the fall, according to news reports.

"Samantha Who?," starring Christina Applegate, was originally expected to return to the ABC lineup, but was unable to tighten its budget enough to come back for what would have been the show's third season.

According to Variety, ABC looked to cut around $500,000 by making several changes including switching from single camera shooting to using multiple cameras. The series, however, became less of a priority after ABC picked up 10 new series. Although "Samantha" showed great promise on Mondays, it began to falter when it switched to ABC's Thursday night lineup.

Fox's "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" also suffered a similar fate. Although the show had promising numbers in its Monday time slot, the viewership fell after it was moved mid-season to Fridays.

Both "Dollhouse" and "Sarah Connor" were up in the air for third season renewals and Fox ultimately felt "Dollhouse" was the best bet, giving it a renewal, according to TV Guide.

Even with "Terminator Salvation" due out in theaters this summer, Fox said buzz for the movie will not bring the show back. The show "has completed its run — and I think it had a nice little run," Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly said in the article. "We make no apologies. It had a huge launch ... and we gave it a lot of support. We tried, but it's time to move on."

Dr. Oz Leaving "Oprah Show"

Like Dr. Phil and Rachael Ray, another regular guest of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" is getting his own show. Dr. Mehmet Oz will end his regular appearances tomorrow with a farewell show, according to the Associated Press.

Oz has been on the show for five years and appeared in 55 episodes offering diet advice and discussing major medical issues.

Will There Be Another Season of "Scrubs"?

ABC is talking with the producers of "Scrubs" about the possibility of a new season next fall, according to Variety. It was previously believed that this would be the show's final year.

Star Zach Braff is reportedly interested in returning for a portion of episodes and, though no actors are signed for "Scrubs" beyond this year (and several have landed pilots this spring), some key players are likely to return.

Fox Not Airing Obama Press Conference

In a statement sent out Monday, Fox confirmed that it will not air the presidential news conference set for 8 p.m. Wednesday, according to Variety. Instead, Fox will follow its planned schedule, airing an episode of "Lie to Me" followed by "American Idol."

Fox notes that it is the only major broadcaster not showing the conference and will alert viewers "with an onscreen graphic at the top of the 8 p.m. (ET) hour that the press conference is available on Fox News Channel and the Fox Business Network," the net said.

Though ABC, CBS and NBC will air the press conference, the third in primetime since Obama took office, these networks are struggling to make last-minute arrangements to avoid ad revenue loss.

Media Matters for America writer Karl Frisch posted a YouTube video on his Twitter and blog in response to Fox's recent decision.

Melissa Rycroft Sits Out Monday's 'DWTS'

Former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader and "Bachelor" contestant Melissa Rycroft was sidelined from Monday's "Dancing With the Stars" competition due to a rib injury, E! Online reports. The injury stems from a difficult routine in last week's competition. Although she was feeling better, Rycroft hurt herself again during rehearsals. Consequently, she and her partner, professional dancer Tony Dovolani, felt it was better for her to sit out for Monday's performance.

Rycroft is expected to make a full recovery and hopes to return to the competition on Tuesday. Thanking her fans for their support on her Facebook page, she wrote "I was doing alright but went to the doc before dress rehearsal for some last minute treatment and ended up having a bad reaction that's affecting my breathing," she wrote. "Hopefully (fingers crossed) I'll be good tomorrow. But thank you for all the love, support and votes! We need it!"

"Grey's" Wedding Site Appears on Knot.com

The Meredith Grey and Derek Shepherd wedding already had buzz among "Grey's Anatomy" fans but "Grey's" creator Shonda Rhimes has added to the hype with a Knot.com Web site. The site includes the wedding date, information on the couple, a blog by character Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl) and even the ability to RSVP. According to the Associated Press, the site drew 1,400 replies within the first 24 hours of its launch.

The AP reports Rhimes "enlisted the TV show's staff and ABC's marketing department to make the most of the occasion." Rhimes came up with the idea while filming scenes where Grey (Ellen Pompeo) tries on wedding dresses. The site came together quickly and launched last Thursday.

A registry page also appears on the site and gives viewers the opportunity to donate funds to the American Academy of Neurology Foundation, American Skin Association and Alzheimer's Association. Michael Benson, executive vice president of marketing for ABC Entertainment, told the AP these charities were chosen because they are connected to key storylines.

'Millionaire' returning to TV

ABC announced that the prime-time version of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" will return August 9 for 11 new episodes. This will be the show's tenth season and will once again be hosted by Regis Philbin, according to EW.com.

ABC's renewed interest in the show is likely due to the success of "Slumdog Millionaire."
