Brooke Shields Outraged at Tabloid's Antics

Brook Shields will take "every lawful action against all who were involved" in checking her 75-year-old mother out of a New Jersey assisted living center last week. Per PEOPLE, Teri Shields was seen at a restaurant speaking with a freelance reporter, but the event wasn't authorized by the Shields family. Teri suffers from dementia and was residing in a senior living facility when two reporters checked her out, claiming they were friends of Teri's.

Shields was contacted by police, and claims the reporters were not friends of Teri's and were just looking for a story. The National Enquirer released this statement to PEOPLE: "A freelance reporter who has known Teri Shields for more than 10 years visited her Thursday at the assisted living facility where Brooke says she moved her. Teri asked the reporter to take her out to lunch and to run some errands. The freelance reporter then got permission from the facility to do so."

The police will continue to investigate but no charges have yet been filed.

"Chuck" Will Return to NBC

The campaign to save "Chuck" apparently paid off. According to EW.com, NBC will renew the spy-comedy for its third season, giving it a 13-episode order.

While the renewal news is good, it will come at a price for members of the show. Warner Bros. agreed to "make significant budget concessions, including scaling back the number of episodes several members of the show's stellar supporting cast will appear in and, per one insider, possibly eliminating one actor altogether."

Pixar's "Up" Opens Cannes

The Cannes Film Festival broke new ground by opening with a Pixar film. It was the first animated film, the first 3D film and the first Disney film to kick off the festival in its in 62-year history, according to The Australian.

Per CNN, Cannes audiences are notoriously vocal. They'll whistle if they're unhappy -- a French version of a boo -- and a movie that doesn't meet the audience's high standards will be treated to the repeated "whop" sounds of theater seats banging shut as patrons leave."Up," however, received little noise but cheers and stellar reviews from critics.

Pink and Carey Hart Together Again

Pink announced on the "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" airing today that she and motocross racer Carey Hart are back together, reports PEOPLE.com. The couple split two years after their 2006 wedding.

In the segment, Pink jokes with Ellen about her song "So What," a song she wrote about Hart after they split.

"He's in the audience so when I sing, 'He's a tool,' now that's my favorite line," Pink says.

It is unclear yet if Pink and Hart will have another ceremony to affirm their re-commitment. According to the article, Pinks says "we didn't do the paperwork deal," so they are technically still married.

Daytime Emmy Nominations Announced

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the nominees for the 36th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.

Among the noteworthy decisions: "Sesame Street" will receive a lifetime achievement award; Susan Lucci from "All My Children" and "The View" didn't get nominations; and "Guiding Light," the longest-running soap opera, received only 3 noms even though it will go off the air in September.
